The Nutcracker Alpharetta reviews
Dancers fine, missing scene disappointing
We took our five year old granddaughter to Genesee Theatre, hoping that it would be more enjoyable for her than the longer Jeoffrey performance we saw last year at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. The best part was that two dancers were available in the lobby after the performance. Clara gave her a long stem rose, and a Spanish dancer asked if she wanted a hug and she loved it.
The repetitive scenes with two main dancers were kept in the performance, and the scene with Mother Ginger was eliminated. It seems eliminating the former, and including the latter, would have made for the perfect performance. If more dancers had been available after the show to the many children who were enamored of them the day would have been perfect.
